The Science Informing the Field

Bioenergetics sits at the intersection of several areas of research exploring how living systems generate, transmit and respond to energy and information.

Some of these mechanisms are well established. Others remain active areas of investigation. Together, they are expanding the conversation around biological communication beyond chemistry alone.

Biophysics

Examines the physical principles underlying living systems, including electrical activity, energy transfer and the forces involved in biological function.

Bioelectromagnetics

Studies the electrical and electromagnetic properties of cells and tissues, including how biological systems generate and respond to electromagnetic fields.

Quantum Biology

Investigates whether quantum phenomena contribute to biological processes such as energy transfer, electron movement and light-dependent reactions at the molecular level.

Fascia & Connective Tissue Research

Explores fascia as a continuous, responsive network involved in mechanical signaling, force transmission and communication throughout the body.

Water & Biological Organization

Investigates the properties of water at biological interfaces and the role its molecular organization may play in cellular environments, charge and biological processes.

Biofield Science

Explores models of energy and information within and around living systems, including questions that extend beyond what can currently be explained through conventional biochemical models alone.

These fields do not provide one unified explanation of how the body works.

They do reveal something important: biology is profoundly communicative.

Electrical gradients, chemical signals, mechanical forces, electromagnetic activity and energy transfer are continually involved in the organization of living systems.

Bioenergetics brings these dimensions into a broader framework for exploring cellular health, communication, regulation and the terrain in which they occur.
